ORIGIN STORY

From Coaching Floors to AI-driven Recruitment Platform

The genesis of Sandeep Boora’s professional journey started way beyond pitch decks and start-up accelerators. It did so within the academic environments, where the careers were unpredictable and a good talent was not marked most of the time.

Sandeep graduated from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra in 2014 and started working in the IIT-JEE and NEET coaching ecosystem.

By listening to the teachers and institute owners, Sandeep recognised a deeper problem: besides more jobs, India was in need of a superior and organised hiring structure. The beginning of that realisation led to the foundation of FPS (Faculty Placement Services).

In order to eliminate reliance on physical coordination, Sandeep and his co-founder, Tusshar Saraf (an IIT Guwahati alumnus) started developing FPS Jobs as an organised job portal for educators. FPS Jobs later transitioned faculty hiring while being operated from a small room in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

Now, that vision has rebranded itself as Tallento.ai, a giant with 120+ employees catering to 2 million+ job seekers and 6,000+ institutes, including corporate giants like Aakash, PhysicsWallah, and BYJU'S.

A decade of building in public, quietly

Not an overnight success. Decade plus of compounding on coaching floors, hiring operations and founder-led execution--created without a whimper.

2013–2016

On-ground operator inside coaching institutes

Employed in IIT-JEE and NEET preparation centers, and got direct exposure to the hiring, retention, internal flaws, and informal hiring. The mismatch that was found during this period between the teaching talent and the hiring systems showed how inappropriate recruitment processes can be.

2017–2019

Launch of FPS Jobs: a focused education hiring platform

Faculty Placement Services was transformed into FPS Jobs to manage education hiring on a large scale. Constructed with little financial resources in Muzaffarpur and Chandigarh, the initial platform, based on manual onboarding of teachers school by school, institute by institute, was developed to form the first organised layer of educator hiring in India.

2020–2022

Phase of scale-up: 1M+ user base and 5,000+ employing partners.

It grew in the areas of IIT-JEE, NEET, K12 schools, universities, and non teaching positions. The internal recruitment department and home-grown applicant tracking systems were designed to do end-to-end hiring at scale.

2023–2024

Move to Tallento.ai and AI-first hiring system

Tallento.ai was launched as a FPS Jobs rebranded to no longer be a hiring platform, but a complete operating hierarchy of recruitment. AI matching, recruiter dashboard, employer tools, and RTJ (ready-to-join) talent pool was also introduced to increase speed, quality, and predictability in hiring.

The ecosystem of the tribe, Shaadiverse, and the Tallento.

The ecosystem grew further than employment to professional belonging, society, housing, marriages, and transitioning to life. The Tallento ecosystem, being designed as long term infrastructure, is built out of Jaipur, it has been designed to cater to working professionals- not just in terms of jobs, but also in terms of people life, movement and growth.
